In 2020, during the pandemic,
2020年、コロナ禍の中で、
I created an installation of 1,000 Daruma titled
だるま1000体による作品
“Fall seven times, rise eight.”
「七千転び八千起き」を制作しました。
The exhibition traveled across Japan.
その作品は日本各地を巡回しました。
Sapporo, Nagoya, Gifu, Kumamoto, Kyoto, and Tokyo.
札幌、名古屋、岐阜、熊本、京都、東京。
It was featured by various media.
各地でメディアにも取り上げられました。
But there was one detail.
ただ、一つだけ。
The security guard standing next to the artwork…
作品の隣に立っていた警備員は、
was me.
僕でした。
Visitors never noticed.
来場者は誰も気づきませんでした。
Even my friends didn’t realize.
友人ですら気づきませんでした。
I even gave interviews in that uniform.
その格好のまま取材も受けました。
And it was broadcast on TV as it was.
そのままテレビで放送されました。
Serious work.
真面目に作って、
Seriously playful.
真面目にふざける。
